Neiman Marcus Celebrates Project Beauty

By Abby Montanez and Victoria Keenan

Project BeautyLast week, Neiman Marcus at Westfield Garden State Plaza held their annual Project Beauty event. Project Beauty is meant to highlight the season’s newest cosmetics, skincare products, and fragrances, while offering attendees an exclusive opportunity to view and purchase these items before anyone else. From well-known luxury brands such as Christian Dior, Trish McEvoy and Tom Ford, seasonal staples were showcased during a runway show and afterwards, hands-on tutorials were offered at the cosmetic counters.

VUE sat front row at the invite-only, runway-styled presentation, while Neiman Marcus Public Relations Director, Chuck Steelman, visited from the Dallas store to host the show. Top makeup artists and skincare experts from Chantecaille, Cle De Peau, Le Metier de Beaute, Trish McEvoy, Kiehl’s, Christian Dior, and Tom Ford, along with models dressed in the hottest fall fashion trends, presented what was new for the season, from makeup palettes and brushes to tips and tricks on how to get the perfect glow (even now that summer is over). Each company presented a gift basket to a lucky guest or guests, who before the show started, were able to enter their names into a raffle. In between, Steelman also gave away lipsticks, lip glosses, and nail polishes for answering questions about the brands and interacting via social media. In addition, ESP Entertainment provided the music by playing current hits throughout the show.

Project BeautyAfter the presentation, guests lined up for Thai-inspired rolled ice cream from Roll‘n Chill, where ice cream artists chopped, diced, spread and rolled fresh strawberry and mango ice cream, then covered the confections in fruit, whipped cream, and bruleed marshmallows. The treats were not only unique, but beautiful, and most importantly, delicious. Downstairs, there was a photobooth set up to take pictures with friends and another round of baskets were raffled off by the participating companies. At the cosmetics counters, makeup artists shared tips and tricks and gave their best advice through a hands-on approach on how to improve your beauty routine. When purchasing whatever you liked best, the companies gave out many different samples, and if $125 of items were purchased, you received a free Neiman Marcus tote stuffed with beauty samples and products from throughout the store.

Neiman Marcus of Paramus also recently celebrated 20 fabulous years of fashion by hosting a party for their platinum anniversary with food, drinks and live entertainment.
