Michelin has awarded seven New York City restaurants new stars in the 2018 Michelin Guide. New York now has five three-star restaurants, and 56 restaurants with at least one star. The seven new Michelin Star restaurants include: Rouge Tomate, Satsuki, Sushi Amane, Cote Korean Steakhouse, Clocktower, Uchu, and Sushi Ginza Onodera. The Michelin Guide is known worldwide for awarding restaurants up to three stars based on reviews concentrating on the quality, mastery of technique, personality and consistency of the food. Satsuki

Satsuki

Satsuki is an underground 10-seat sushi bar located in Midtown devoted to high-end omakase dinners. Featuring a range of edomae sushi and sashimi optionswith fish sourced from the Tsukiji market in TokyoChefs Toshio Suzuki and Kentaro Sawada prepare guests for an exquisite dining experience.

 

 

 

Sushi Amane

Sushi Amane

Sushi Amane is a restaurant within a restaurant located in the basement of Mifune, which hosts an intimate eight-seat omakase experience offering the finest contemporary sushi. The Chef, Shion Uino, comes from Sushi Saito, the finest three-Michelin-Starred restaurant in Tokyo. Restaurant-goers can pick from a $120 eight-course tasting menu or their standard a la carte menu (sushi, rice, soups, appetizers, and entrees).

Cote Korean Steakhouse

Cote is an upscale, innovative Korean BBQ restaurant that is disguised as a steakhouse. Owner Simon Kim and Executive Chef David Shim tap into their Korean roots to deliver an impressive fusion of American steakhouse items and traditional Korean cuisine such as kimchi and gyeran-jjim. Times critic Pete Wells even declare that the beef at Cote is possibly “the best at any Korean barbecue place in New York.”

Sushi Ginza Onodera

Sushi Ginza Onodera is the first Japanese sushi restaurant to receive two Michelin Star ratings in the United States. Onodera serves 32 seats a night and offers guests an option of three levels of omakase where the chef serves traditional sushi. Much of the fish comes directly from Tokyo’s Tsukiji market while the white rice is from Niigata Prefecture and is seasoned with two types of red vinegar, providing an exquisite flavor fit for any palate.
