Hotel ReVue: Resorts World Catskills (Monticello, NY)

From the moment you pull into the quiet, beautiful, snow-covered surroundings, you’ll know that the Resorts World Catskills is the perfect weekend escape in New York State. This Catskills resort offers proximity to Manhattan, but is peaceful enough that you’ll feel a whole world away from the big city.

Once you get inside the grounds of the resort, there is no reason to leave. The exciting interior contrasts perfectly with the calm and lush outdoor environment. There are over 150 Las Vegas-styled table games, 1,600 slot machines, and 10 different restaurants and bars – not to mention the luxurious Crystal Life Spa, where we enjoyed a truly delightful, hour-long Swedish massage. Not only does the spa offer a variety of different massages to choose from, but it also provides different body treatments, facials, and a salon to meet all guest needs. The Resort World amenities do not end there, as the two pools and two hot tubs offer adults-only and family-friendly sections.

The resort also boasts a full calendar of live entertainment from top DJs to performances by Chester, New York’s own multi-platinum recording artist, Andy Grammer. The Epicenter is an ideal venue for seeing great entertainment. One of their upcoming events in late April includes a standup performance by the famous actor Kevin James. Not only does the resort hold these epic events, but live music can also be found in restaurants in the Resorts World. Seeing a huge star in this intimate setting makes for an unforgettable night.

For golf enthusiasts, the Topgolf Swing Suite features Full Swing Golf simulators, which according to Topgolf, are the same as those used by PGA Tour professionals Tiger Woods, Jordan Spieth, and Jason Day. The suite can hold up to eight players and offers private comfortable seating as well as HDTVs and top-shelf bar service for you as you wait your turn to take your golf shot. The Topgolf Swing Suite allows you to stay on top of your game, even in the middle of the cold New York winter.

An incredible array of dining experiences all found within the grounds of the resort make your stay low stress and low key, while still being absolutely delicious. Options include 24/7 Bistro, Dos Gatos Cantina, the Doubletop Bar & Grill, Good Friends for authentic Asian street food, Lotus, the RW Food Hall to grab a quick bite, the Empire Lounge, the Butterfly Beach Pool Bar, and an Italian inspired steakhouse, Cellaio. Not only do all of these restaurants offer delicious foods, but they also include entertainment to make your night filled with music and laughter as you enjoy your meal.

We enjoyed dinner at Cellaio with its extensive menu carefully curated by the acclaimed chef Scott Conant. The perfectly tender filet could be paired with enhancements like smoked blue cheese fonduta or lobster tails. The menu also featured a selection of antipasti and pasta dishes for those craving traditional Italian fare. The atmosphere was electric and the staff met all our needs.

The accommodations at this resort are luxurious with our 19th-floor room offering breathtaking views of the Catskill Mountains.  Even the bathroom was inspired with a double vanity, dressing area, and a large waterfall shower. All the suites are very spacious, including a cozy sitting area and desk. Resorts World Catskills offer a range of different rooms, perfect for just you and your significant other or the whole family to enjoy their stay. After a fun filled day at the resort and as it got time to go to bed, we heard no noise from the casino or from our neighbors as we drifted off to sleep.

Whether you are looking to travel as a couple, as a family, or for a special celebration with friends, Resorts World Catskills is the perfect choice for a getaway that includes a combination of tranquility, entertainment, and excitement.
