Prince and Nadiyah Romney Celebrate Grand Opening of Activated Juice in Garfield, New Jersey
The city of Garfield welcomes a new beacon of health and vitality as Activated Juice opens its doors to the public. Located at 55 Passaic Street, this exciting new juice bar guarantees to revolutionize the way we think about wellness. Combining the freshest organic ingredients with a unique musical flair, founders Prince and Nadiyah Romney Celebrate the grand opening of Activated Juice in Garfield, New Jersey.
Nadiyah and Prince are real estate developers, married with two children, who saw a need in the community they lived in for a clean and healthy spot to grab a juice or smoothie in Bergen County. Coming from a health-conscious background filled with fitness and a nutritious diet, the founders want to educate their consumers on what they’re putting into their bodies and how it can benefit them.
Prince, originally from Georgetown Island, grew up in a juice bar environment and comes from a family deeply rooted in music. This rich musical heritage, combined with Nadiyah’s vision, inspired them to create a space where high-quality, plant-based nutrition meets the rich history of music and rhythm of life.
This fusion is evident in Activated Juice’s ambiance, where the storefront itself acts as a stage, featuring live DJs and musicians. “We wanted to create a place where people can not only enjoy healthy, organic drinks but also experience great music,” Prince said. A visit to Activated Juice is a listening experience with the finest quality musical equipment. Activated Juice serves, non-GMO, soy-free, BPA-free, gluten-free, dairy-free, and 100% plant-based juices, smoothies, coffee, and healthy snacks that are not only delicious according to adults, but kids too. The menu was carefully crafted, serving nourishing ingredients you won’t find at your average juice bar while still finding a way to excite any customer about the idea of (for instance) drinking beats in one of their top drinks, “Beet Bop.” “Automatically a kid or adult would not be the biggest fan. But we found a way to make it taste really good,” said Nadiyah.
The Romney kids constantly asking for one of their juices was a major motivating factor in early child development becoming a main goal with their products. Activated Juice strives to ensure that all kids truly find fruits, vegetables, and other wholesome essentials delicious.
The juice and smoothie recipes are inspired by lots of travel. The Romneys documented any notable flavors of juices and cocktails around the world in order to curate the menu they have now. Prince even included that he has a full Excel spreadsheet of juice ingredients and their wellness advantages, indicating the thought and love that goes into each drink.
Aside from building the exceptional menu, the Romneys expressed that the biggest challenge of creating this juice bar was executing the design and interiors to match the aesthetic they were going for. “Do we go with the cookie-cutter design of a juice bar with bright green and orange colors? Or do we go the complete opposite route and do something that doesn’t even exist?” Nadiyah shared her thinking process.
They’ve decided to go with the latter. With premium music equipment, vinyl records on shelves, and a club-like vibe, the decor of Activated Juice is unmatched.
While their short-term goal is to create a flourishing juice bar company in Bergen County where customers are educated on what they’re ingesting, The Romneys have big plans for Activated Juice to expand quickly and become nationwide.
