Whether planning a family celebration or just needing a midday pick-me-up, New Jersey offers an array of delicious afternoon tea at undiscovered places. Here are VUE NJ’s top tea room recommendations in New Jersey.
Prince Tea House – Edison, Marlton, & Princeton
A local chain tea house with 10 locations in the USA, Prince Tea House serves an abundance of high-quality, freshly brewed teas imported directly from France. You’ll find about 10 options under Green Tea alone. Take advantage of their fun flavors; the Jardin Tropical Tea is a popular one. The Rose Lover Milk Tea is a well-liked sweet option, and you can even choose your sugar level. Regarding desserts, matcha lovers should try the Green Tea Mille Crêpes Cake, and chocolate lovers the Molten Lava Cake. Prince Tea House also has food appetizers and salads if you’re there during lunchtime. And unlike other tea houses, the portions are relatively large.
Jane’s Tea House – Haddon Heights
Even non-tea drinkers can enjoy the bright, intimate atmosphere of Jane’s Tea House and take a photo at the Selfie Station where there are plenty of props. Visitors can go in the morning too; they serve coffee and breakfast dishes like avocado toast, a French toast bowl, or a fried egg and cheddar cheese scone-wich. Jane’s Tea House has a strong selection of sweet and savory homemade scones; the savory garlic and herb scone is a must-try. Furthermore, customers can enjoy over 30 iced tea flavors, and their summer menu includes some exclusive additions, such as their peach apricot iced tea.
Tipple & Rose Tea Parlor and Apothecary – Princeton
Cozy and filled with vintage decor, Tipple and Rose offers over 140 teas and tisanes. Their food offerings include housemade light bites for lunch, locally made desserts, and Doria’s sweet and savory scones. The tea is super fragrant since there are a generous amount of leaves in the strainer bags. Like a real tea time at the Rosewood Hotel in London, you’ll receive a timer that tells you when to remove the tea bag from the water so when you use it a second and third time, the tea is just as aromatic as the first. The apothecary/retail space emphasizes whole-body wellness and self-care such as housemade bath and body products, tea-making accessories, and organic bulk herbs and spices. Make sure to check out their one-of-a-kind tea sniffing bar to sample different tea blends.
