As summer comes to an end, we pack away our shorts and swimwear only to wonder what we will be wearing during the fall season that is quickly approaching. We’re often faced with questions like ‘what’s in this season?’ or ‘how do I wear that?’ And so, we’ve created our very own trend forecast so you can navigate everything that will be trending this season.
Dark Florals
Everyone will be falling for florals this fall. Although florals are usually found with the coming of spring, flowers will continue to bloom as the popular pattern sticks around for another season. In comparison to past years, the print will be considerably less bright and cheery and instead, will take on a slightly darker and more sophisticated mood. This bold, elegant pattern will be seen on ruffled tops, maxi-dresses, and heels.
Bright Velvet
Velvet ruled the runway at New York Fashion Week and was spotted on luxury brands such as Prada and Gucci. This fabric will continue to make its presence this fall with its slightly new persona, one that’s more elevated than seasons past. Say goodbye to your old black and burgundy velvet pieces and hello to bright and bold colors such as blue and yellow. Velvet will be seen on everything from tailored suits and swing dresses to grandiose skirts.
Red Everything
This fall season is also going to be red hot. Red has already begun flooding stores in various shades from power red to fierce burgundy. This hue has made its comeback at New York Fashion Week and is undoubtedly the standout color of the season; red was seen from designers such as Victoria Beckham and Proenza Schouler. The best of red looks this fall can be worn in knits, evening gowns, outerwear, suiting, and accessories.
One Shoulder
After many seasons of “cold shoulder” and off the shoulder tops as fashion favorites, this fall season will be introducing something new and fresh; the one-shoulder top. One-shoulder tops will give women the opportunity to show some skin while also being a bit more sophisticated. One shoulder tops can be paired with skinny jeans or a mini skirt and if you’re looking for something a bit fancier, a one-shoulder dress will be the perfect piece this fall for a date or special event.
Frayed Hem Jeans
Denim jeans will always be a part of our everyday wardrobe but this fall, it’s all about the hem. Whether you’re wearing a pair of skinny jeans or wide leg bottoms, a unique hem with fringe or frill is going to spice up your look and take it to the next level.
Fun Fringe
You’ll be gracing your closet with as much fringe as possible this season. Fringe will be the main sense of playfulness in your wardrobe, adding a fun and flirty accent to any piece. Fringe can be worn simply and casually during the day by strategically placing it on the hem of a pair of jeans or a skirt. Fringe can also be worn in a more bold and wild way for an evening out by draping it down the length of a dress.
