Tablescapes For The Holidays

At home with Vanessa DeLeon

During the holidays, transforming a table setting that works throughout the season can be a challenge. To create a memorable and elegant holiday, tablescape takes time and effort. Let’s walk through the process to transform those challenges into a unique Table setting experience for anyone. First, take inventory of items on hand that you would like to use. Look around and see if there any antique vases stored away or one of a kind glassware that may fit your holiday colors.

Next, place the special pieces in the center of the table; this is your inspirational point. Now make a list of the things you need. The list should include holiday accessories, floral arrangements, flatware, dishes, glassware and place cards. Last, identify your decorative needs; now, your table settings will glow with fun lighting, textures, and don’t forget to throw in some bling. Be mindful when adding Thanksgiving items; for example, some small pumpkins, and decorative corn can be substituted with items appropriate to the theme. This is an easy way of transition from Thanksgiving into the end-of-year holidays.

In a matter of minutes, your tablescape can transform from one holiday to another without compromising the entire table. For this tablescape, I accessorized with a pair of antique Swarovski Crystal Swans belonging to my grandparents. The elegant gold and silver flatware and sparkly placemats create the perfect contrast to the black dining room table. Wishing you a safe and healthy holiday! During Covid 19 please follow safety laws, rules and regulations when hosting or attending a holiday gathering this season.
