Inside Liora Club & Residences: A Refined New Vision for Coastal Living

At Liora Club & Residences in Long Branch, Builders Design takes a fresh approach to coastal interiors, trading traditional nautical cues for warm woods, sunset-inspired hues and sophisticated, layered textures.

Coastal living has long been associated with a familiar visual language: crisp whites, shades of blue and unmistakable nautical references. At Liora Club & Residences in Long Branch, that formula takes a decidedly more refined turn.

For the development’s model residence, Builders Design looked to the natural warmth of the Jersey Shore, particularly the shoreline at sunset as inspiration. The resulting interiors are calm, welcoming and effortlessly livable, pairing an elevated aesthetic with the comfort of a home designed for everyday life.

The design moves beyond the expected beach-house aesthetic, instead incorporating sandy neutrals, sun-washed terracottas, soft corals and golden tones. Warm woods, textured wallcoverings, layered textiles and gentle curves add dimension throughout the residence, creating a sophisticated interpretation of coastal design that feels connected to its Long Branch setting without feeling overly themed.

Inspired by the Shoreline at Sunset

The inspiration begins with color. Rather than relying on the traditional blues and nautical motifs often associated with coastal interiors, Builders Design drew from the changing palette of the shoreline at sunset. Sandy neutrals establish a warm, understated foundation, while terracotta, coral and golden tones introduce subtle moments of color.

The result is an interior palette that feels distinctly coastal without being literal. Playful patterns and textured materials bring personality to the spaces, while the combination of warm woods and layered textiles creates the sense of depth and softness that defines the residence.

“We wanted the homes to embody coastal living in a refined and understated way, rather than feeling overly themed,” said Jessica Steeves at Builders Design. “Inspired by the warmth of the shoreline at sunset, we incorporated sandy neutrals and warm woods, layered with rich textures and gentle curves.”

A Seamless Connection Between Home and Hospitality

One of the most thoughtful elements of the design is the relationship between the private residences and Liora’s amenity spaces.

The model residence carries the same material language and emotional tone found throughout the property’s hospitality-inspired spaces. Texture and layering subtly evoke the feeling of being near the ocean, while avoiding overt coastal themes.

That same philosophy extends beyond the individual residence. Liora’s amenity collection includes spaces such as The Breakers Resident Lounge, The Dunes Multipurpose Lounge, The Pelican Wine Lounge, a state-of-the-art fitness center with private yoga studio, a golf and multisport simulator, business lounge and game room. Outdoor spaces include a landscaped pool with sun shelf, cabanas, The Tides Terraces, fire pits, a grill and dining area, lawn games and pickleball courts.

Together, the spaces create a residential experience that feels less like a traditional apartment community and more like a private coastal club.

Elevated Finishes, Designed for Everyday Living

The residence’s design is not purely aesthetic. Its finishes are equally focused on functionality. Liora residences feature luxury plank flooring, custom modular closets, window treatments, in-home GE washers and dryers and private outdoor space. Select homes offer ceiling heights of up to 20 feet, adding another layer of architectural presence to the interiors.

In the kitchens, stainless steel appliances include GE Profile gas ranges and side-by-side refrigerator/freezers. White quartz countertops, full-height tiled backsplashes and soft-close cabinetry complete the clean, contemporary look.

Bathrooms continue the restrained palette with white quartz countertops, porcelain tile floors, full-height tiled wet walls, soft-close cabinetry and medicine cabinets. The result is a residence where the details feel considered without becoming overly precious, luxury that is meant to be lived in.

Coastal Design Without the Clichés

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of Liora’s model residence is what it chooses not to do. There are no obvious nautical themes competing for attention. Instead, the design captures the feeling of the coast through material, color, texture and light.

“It’s about creating a space that feels calm, welcoming and effortlessly livable,” Steeves said. That philosophy allows the residence to feel connected to Long Branch while remaining timeless enough to work beyond a single season or design trend.

At its best, coastal interior design is less about decorating with references to the ocean and more about recreating the feeling of being there. At Liora Club & Residences, Builders Design achieves that through a warm, sophisticated palette and a thoughtful layering of materials.

At Liora Club & Residences, coastal living is less about a look and more about a feeling, one shaped by thoughtful design, natural warmth and a sense of ease that carries from the interiors into the surrounding lifestyle. Through its understated palette, layered materials and considered details, Builders Design has created a vision of home that feels both sophisticated and effortlessly livable, capturing the spirit of the Jersey Shore in a distinctly modern way.
