American Society of Interior Designers Presents Awards to Top NJ Designers 2021

Last month, VUE had the pleasure of joining the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) at the Stony Field Inn in Hackensack to celebrate the top NJ designers. The event marked the 25th anniversary of the Design Excellence competition, and attendees were excited to be back in person for their first gathering since before the pandemic. With more than 30 prizes being awarded to competition participants, here are our highlights from the awards ceremony.

Presentation of the Design Excellence Awards

The ceremony was hosted by NBC’s George Oliphant from “George to the Rescue,” who conducted the event with great passion and understanding of the aspects of interior design. Designers were given awards in residential and commercial design under categories including Residential Single Space, Design for People With Specific Or Special Needs, Government/Institutional Space, Residential Outdoor Living Spaces, and many others.

Among those other categories, Beth Insabella Walsh from Insabella Design, who has been previously featured in VUE, won three awards: a bronze in Residential Large Kitchen, 151 Square Feet or More; a silver in Commercial Spaces, 10,000 Square Feet or More; and a bronze in Speciality and Unique Spaces.

Walsh and the other winning top NJ designers earned their awards based on the judging of past ASID members who considered how their projects demonstrated purpose, integrity, creativity, as well as how their design affects people that live in those spaces.
