Cannabidiol, better known as CBD, is taking the health world by storm. This natural chemical, found in the cannabis plant, has become a popular remedy for alternative treatments of a wide variety of health problems. With its different kinds of benefits and convenient forms, CBD is becoming notable in all things health.
Cannabidiol comes in a wide variety of forms ranging from gummies and capsules to topical creams and balms. It is often used to relieve pain without the psychoactive effects that THC, another chemical found in marijuana, can have. By lessening inflammation, CBD can be used to treat chronic pain in an easy and effective way, especially helping conditions such as epilepsy and reactions to chemotherapy.
It’s also commonly used to treat mental health problems without the tricky side effects that other pharmaceutical medications may come with. This natural option can alleviate the oftentimes debilitating symptoms of mental disorders, including anxiety, depression and post-traumatic stress disorder.
Other possible benefits suggested by various studies include a positive contribution to heart health, substance abuse treatment, and prevention of diabetes. Needless to say, with all benefits considered, the ‘trend’ of CBD isn’t going anywhere any time soon.
The increase of its usage is affecting the market exponentially; a report from the Brightfield Group predicts that the revenue of the product in the United States will hit $23.7 billion by 2023. And now, this up-and-coming treatment is becoming even more accessible with stores dedicated to CBD products opening up locally.
Hemp & Honey, located in Edgewater, New Jersey and shipping nationally, is a boutique not only dedicated to offering high-quality CBD and whole hemp products, but maximizing the experience of the consumer. Research, education, and advising all play a significant role at the boutique. They offer CBD in every form imaginable: tinctures, gummies, vapes, teas, and more– along with a consultation for how to use the products in the most advantageous, personal way.
Owner Dana Ohebshalom was inspired to open the store after her own experience with CBD and whole hemp products. After using CBD for several years for anxiety and sleep aid to help her perform well at work as a registered nurse, she had developed her own perspective of the sometimes confusing world of CBD.
“Much like many new businesses it was born organically out of a need to fill a void in the market,” Ohebshalom tells VUE NJ. “ I found myself ordering CBD products online sight unseen based on limited research and other people’s reviews. Needless to say, some products were great while many definitely left a lot to be desired. This process inspired me to create a boutique that represents what I believe are the best of the best in their respective categories. I wanted to try and ease the burden on consumers so they could find all of these products in one welcoming environment.”
The newly-opened local business encourages those who are not sure where to start with CBD to get in contact in person at the boutique or via online/phone to see what the best personalized course of action is, for, as Ohebshalom says, “Everyone is different and it is certainly not a one size fits all approach.”
The future is bright for CBD: studies continue to find a plethora of health benefits, and consumers continue to take to the natural alternative for various health conditions.
“This industry is still very much in its infancy and I think that the coming years will be even better than the last. With the stigma surrounding the use of cannabis as medicine slowly being lost (it’s about time) and a growing field of quality producers and retailers, the sky’s the limit,” Ohebshalom says. “A bright future is ahead for people who are committed to quality products and service oriented businesses.”
