Meditation: The Power of Peace

Tania (Gold) is a true Spiritual Native. Exposed at a very early age to spirituality and meditation by her mother, Tania learned TM at the age of four.  Tania was raised by her Mexican born mother and American father in Usonia, a Frank Lloyd Wright community outside of New York City.  She and her sister (artist Melita Osheowitz) spent summers in Mexico where they were exposed to Mexico’s rich culture.  Tania’s unique upbringing has served as inspiration for her future as both an interior designer and spiritual mentor.

Tania spent many years as a successful residential interior designer in the New York/New Jersey area as well as, London, Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.  She was part of the design team overseeing Temple Sinai’s historic renovation of its main sanctuary and social hall.  She is a wife and mother of three boys, one with special needs.  In her “spare” time, Tania has devoted herself as a Board Member and Lead Fundraiser at The CTC Academy, Northern NJ.   With a robust career, growing volunteer board responsibilities and the everyday stress and pressure of family and kids, Tania turned to her meditation practice to find peace, focus and tranquility and it quickly became a way of life.

Throughout the years however, Tania felt her spiritual calling get louder and louder.  In 2017, she decided to re-direct her career to coincide with her passion and opened Sacred Space Living, a meditation and spiritual wellness center.  Using her background in design, she created the perfect space to share her teachings.  “The right space can enhance the mediation experience…which is why I created Sacred Space ”

Tania is committed to helping others. She is part teacher, part therapist, part healer, part mentor, part friend to all of her clients. She created Sacred Space not only for herself but for others to feel a sense of community and connection as they integrate meditation and spirituality into their lives.   “Holding space for people while they connect to something deeper is such an honor.”

In March of this year, Tania opened her second studio in Tenafly NJ.  This sophisticated, yet warm & earthy store front space combines all the aspects of her talents.  When COVID-19 forced her to close her doors, she quickly pivoted to a virtual platform. With a devoted following, she offers daily teachings and related meditations in the form of a monthly subscription.

“I’ve grown so much personally and professionally as a result of the pandemic. I realized that talking to a camera rather than a class gave me complete freedom to be totally transparent. So, I decided to use this virtual platform as a way to process this unprecedented moment.  I opened myself fully to my clients, being vulnerable and raw.  I have shared the beautiful moments as well as the painful ones.  Real strength comes from vulnerability.  I wanted everyone to know that it was ok to feel all of the waves of emotion during this time and to know that they weren’t alone.  As a result, I feel such a strong sense of community, we are truly getting through this together.”

Tania hopes to reopen her studio soon, with limited class sizes and safety measures in place. But in the meantime, you can find her online and in-person at The Tenafly Nature Center.   For more information visit: Sacred-SpaceLiving.com.
