Must-Try Restaurants At American Dream

With over 3 million square feet of retail space and dozens of attractions, the American Dream mall is finally starting to take shape as New Jersey’s premier shopping destination. As many luxury brands are trickling in, there has been a surge in lively dining concepts as well. Many of these are supplementing their recently added Dream Bar, which deserves a spotlight on its own. Today, we are going to be discussing a few of these restaurants at American Dream, including some that are on their way.

Restaurants Available Now

Szechuan Opera

If you are looking for a restaurant with a variety of cultural flavors in a cozy and charming dining environment, then Szechuan Opera may be your best bet. Founded in 2019, brothers Mingge and Zimo intend to bring the iconic dishes of the Sichuan region of China to the American Dream mall. Many of these plates are filled to the brim with garlic, spicy red chili peppers, and Sichuan peppercorns. This combination of spices often leads to feelings of ecstasy followed by mind numbing heat. If you can tolerate the heat, then try their Diced Chicken in Three Hot Peppers or Special Dry Pot.

If that is not up your alley, they have plenty of Chinese takeout classics such as Beef and Broccoli and General Tso’s Chicken.  You can find this restaurant at the American Dream Mall in Court A on Level 3.

Carpaccio

Carpaccio is an Italian restaurant with a rich history dating over 25 years. The original Carpaccio was founded at the Bal Harbour Shops in Florida, and since then has been delighting customers with fresh and delicious flavors. Now, this lauded restaurant has made its way to American Dream. Their consistent success relies on their simple yet refined recipes, and many of them are nothing short of outstanding. Aside from their traditional Italian fare, you can also find additional fine dining options from their raw seafood bar and signature carpaccio plates. Some entrees worth trying are their Veal Scaloppine Marsala and Linguine Vongole, but if that is not your style, they have plenty of other options to choose from. If you want a dining experience that is elegant, refined and altogether delicious, Carpaccio will be your best bet.

Jarana

For those unaware, “jarana” is a Peruvian term for celebration, and this restaurant is could not choose a more apt name. Jarana is a fun and energetic restaurant that entreats its patrons with the mouthwatering flavors of Peruvian cuisine. Many flavors of Peru take inspiration from other culinary disciplines, such as Italian and Chinese. These international flavors are made new with popular dishes such as their Tallarines Bachiche and Lomo Saltado. This is not to mention their equally flavorful traditional dishes such as their Aji de Gallina, a pulled chicken stew made with Aji Amarillo sauce. Other food options include Cebiche and Japanese inspired Nikkei Nigiri. Additional services include vegetarian options and a full bar. No matter the decision, dining at Jarana is always a celebration.

Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot

One of China’s best restaurants is making its way to American Dream, and its flavors arrive in the form of traditional Mongolian broths. Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot is iconic in Asia. It so iconic that the Chinese government had its founders create the standard for hot pot restaurants throughout the country. Many argue that this brand makes the best hot pot in the world. With an average review of 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor in NYC, that claim has merit.  

The interior of the locale will be sleek, modern, and ultimately communal. The draw with these restaurants is that the culinary experience is completely customizable. These options include 6 different types of broth and 8 different types of meat to choose from. This is not to mention the myriad of vegetable and carb-based options as well. This results in a unique restaurant experience that is not often seen in this part of the world.

Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot will be coming soon. You will be able to find this culinary experience in Court A, on level 3.

Marcus Live! Bar and Grille

Marcus Live!  Bar and Grill is an exciting new restaurant concept with the kitchen at the center of the action. This project is being spearheaded by Marcus Samuelsson, the award-winning chef and restaurateur, who has been featured in TV shows such as Chopped All-Stars and Iron Chef. The concept of the restaurant is as its name implies. Chef Samuelsson will be cooking alongside his team in a transparent fashion at the center of the space, providing live entertainment for customers.  

The menu is an eclectic mix of his famous dishes, ranging from Old Bay Crab Cakes to Hot Honey Chicken and Cornbread Waffles. There will also be family style options available such as “Festival Fried Chicken” and “The Garden State Jubilee”. This is not to mention the extensive list of wines, craft beers and signature cocktails.

 Samuelsson will be bringing his iconic flavors to the American Dream mall soon. You will be able to find Marcus Live! at Court A on level 3.
