Natural Wonder: The Lodge at Woodloch

For many of us, living in the hustle and bustle of Northern New Jersey and New York City at times calls for an escape. Just under two hours outside Bergen County, nestled amongst 150 acres of the Poconos, is The Lodge at Woodloch. A destination where time seems to stand still, allowing one to become fully immersed in the relaxing luxuries of nature.

The spa’s Aqua Garden features a Hydromassage water wall, a cleansing eucalyptus steam room and a luxury salon. In addition to rejuvenating body treatments, Woodloch’s spa concierge is available to help personalize an itinerary which is tailored to each guest’s individual needs and well-being.

Amidst the lush landscape, with a view of the lodge’s private lake, dining at Woodloch puts a strong emphasis on naturally raised meats and organic produce. The resort’s three functioning gardens promote an exclusive farm-to-table experience. During our last visit, dinner entrées included signature dishes such as filet mignon, grilled wagyu sirloin steak, vegan lentil cassoulet and seared scallops with parsnip puree. All dishes encapsulated the essence of comfort food prepared with locally-sourced ingredients.

In addition to dining, the staff focuses on the importance of service. Simple touches, such as a customizable in-room dessert tray, demonstrate the significance of a true relaxation retreat.
