Exploring the Heart of O-Town

Downtown Orlando is a bustling city well-known as a go-to for nightlife, dining, and entertainment. The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando is a refreshing addition for travelers looking for an easy escape without compromising on five-star amenities.

The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando is conveniently located in Downtown Orlando within a few minutes of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and Amway Stadium. It features 177 rooms and 35 suites, an on-site Starbucks, a rooftop pool and bar, and the property’s signature restaurant, The Boheme. The hotel is currently undergoing a gradual $18 million dollar renovation to freshen up its amenities and re-create interiors into modernized secession style architecture and decor which includes sumptuous gold, black, and velvet accents.

The Jacuzzi Suite offers its namesake amenity, a jacuzzi bath along with a full shower option, and features a king-sized bed with a plush green velvet headboard and luxury bedding. The suite is spacious and also has a separate living area with a sofa, a dining area, and views of the Amway stadium. One of the more lush amenities in the hotel is the Poseidon Spa. The appointment-only spa offers rooms with soft linens, lighting set for a relaxing ambiance, and custom massages and facials. Facials can be customized with essential add-ons such as hydration masks, correction peels, and LED light therapy.

Renovations throughout the hotel are progressing in phases with The Boheme scheduled to welcome diners by the end of January. However, guests can currently visit the completely updated Bösendorfer Lounge for cocktails and dining, which features a backlit stone bar, two-tone vaulted ceilings, and arched details throughout the room. Exciting updates to the Altira Rooftop Pool Lounge are also currently underway where guests will be able to enjoy all new couches, canopies, bungalows, and cabanas, surrounded by an updated, stylish pool. The Altira pool area will also feature all-day dining with seasonally inspired dishes and a refreshing specialty cocktail menu.

There are a number of standout areas throughout the building, such as the Grand Bohemian Art Gallery where the walls are full of custom artwork made by both local and international artists. Here guests are able to purchase jewelry to take home as gifts or mementos from their visit. The Grand Bohemian Rotunda is another remarkable room that features an original Bösendorfer piano, one of two left in the world. The Boheme’s Wine Room is able to seat fourteen guests for private dining events and features patterned wallpaper, red velvet seating, and wooden vaulted ceilings that evoke modern, handcrafted luxury.

Travelers looking for an exciting dining experience should add Mediterranean restaurant AVA to their list. While booking a reservation weeks in advance is suggested, the popular restaurant blows diners away with a number of exceptional dishes inspired by classic Greek cooking and Aegean tradition. Some of these dishes include the spanakopita, grilled octopus that’s topped off with romesco, kalamata tapenade, and pistou. Other standouts include the truffle pizza and the bluefin tuna tartare, prepared with Boqueron, a basil emulsion, drop pepper, and achoïade. The black truffle risotto and filet mignon are not to be missed either. Michelin Star winner and head chef Keith Bombaugh has curated a freshly sourced, thoughtfully executed menu for diners to enjoy. AVA also features the exclusive MM Club where members are able to easily access a basement-level speakeasy-style bar and dining experience.

Only a ten-minute walk from The Grand Bohemian lies the Amway Center where guests can plan to experience an exciting Magic game with friends or family. Visitors can also enjoy a night of culture and exciting performances at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts where they can enjoy family-friendly shows such as Frozen Jr. or an evening of Wicked and other musical performances. Artists who have graced the stage at the Center for the Performing Arts include John Mellencamp, Gladys Knight, and Deep Purple to name a few.

While The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando may not be in the closest proximity to Orlando’s most famous attractions, Downtown Orlando has a wonderful roster of activities for travelers looking for a getaway without the pressure of intense tourism and all-day excursions. It’s a comfortable yet luxurious space to call home for a vacation in the heart of the city. The Grand Bohemian Hotel Orlando is the perfect place to unwind and make new memories without big city crowds.
