For example, rather than being constructed out of wood frames and plywood, 27 Ward Ave was built using the highest quality, specifically poured-in-place concrete, which makes up the walls’ structure on every level. “It made the house ultra-energy-efficient, and it allowed us to remove columns in certain places, making room sizes larger.” said the former owner on a phone interview with VUE Magazine. “It also allowed for higher ceiling heights.”

Its exterior architectural style is also rather distinctive: with its warm beige limestone-cladding, round arches, and classically-inspired columns, the outside of the house is reminiscent of Spanish villas—a far cry from the coastal colonial style common along the Jersey Shore. “Aesthetically, we were going for a contemporary, Mediterranean villa type of design. We wanted a blend of the Mediterranean and French contemporary style,” said the former owner. The interior design, which was handled primarily by NYC-based group Robert Henry Design Architects, is more minimalistic than the outside suggests—featuring an open floor plan, clean lines, imported marble, and neutral, trendy tones. “It’s a clean, transitional style,” said Joshua Baris, a FIVESTAR® Professional and Luxury Agent with Coldwell Banker  Realty who listed 27 Ward Ave. “It’s California, LA meets Soho. Very hip, very trendy, but at the same time extremely elegant and clean”.

You would imagine, then, that a property of this size would be chock full of luxury amenities – and you would be right!
